🤷♂️ Why are we doing this?
We’re a group of finance students from the ANU who started The Weekly Charge after realizing how overwhelming it can be to keep up with the news, especially in finance.
Frustrated by paywalls, wordy articles, political noise, and jargon, we decided to create a solution: A free, student-led weekly newsletter that breaks down the biggest stories in finance, business, politics, and more, all in just a 5-minute read.
Since we’ve been told by our professors to read the news anyway, we figured, why not share what we learn? Think of it as a laid-back blog from your fellow students. No pretentious analysis, no B.S. and slightly unhinged, we aim to deliver you just the news, straight up.
🍻 What we are offering.
A weekly roundup of the top 4 must-know stories in finance, business, politics, and beyond.
Hyperlinks to the original articles we’ve read.
All wrapped in a light-hearted, straightforward, and conversational email you’ll actually want to read.
Landing in your inbox every Sunday.

We cut through the clutter so you don’t have to. Every week, we filter out the fluff (ads, paywalls, opinion pieces, and filler articles) to deliver only the essentials straight to your inbox (just once a week, no spam, no hassle).
Our goal is to try our best to deliver you a comprehensive overview of the week's news.
-
Every day, we track and analyse the latest headlines. By week’s end, we handpick 16 stories that capture the pulse of the week.
These are neatly sorted into four sections — Markets, Business, Politics, and Miscellaneous — and distilled into a clear, concise email, giving you a quick yet insightful overview of the week in news, and leaving you plenty of time to study.

Trust me when I say there isn’t a shortage of daily finance summaries out there but through our own experience and market research, we believe finance news can be condensed even more.
If you’re already subscribed to a daily newsletter (and read them every single day 🤥), no stress, treat us like a weekly recap.
